Micah (Lucah
and Gracie pedigree) was our pick puppy from our first litter
whelped Nov 14, 2005. Micah earned both his Canadian
and American Championships by 19 months old with 4 point and
5 point major wins and won multiple Best in Breeds by the age
of 2.
He
has been home maturing for the last year and is now starting
to be shown occasionally by
Professional Handler Luke Baggenstos
as a Special with multiple Group placements as well as multiple
Best of Breed wins. Luke is a great new member of the Rainy
Days family. Micah finished out September 2009 nationally ranked
#18 in All Breed points and #24 in Breed points without going
out of the Pacific Northwest. We are very proud of them.
Micah follows the
Breed Standard for the Mastiff and is easily one of the most
sound Mastiffs we've seen. Unfortunately, too many breed only
for size which can compromise soundness and type. The Mastiff
is a Working Breed and form should follow function. In other
words, it doesn't matter how heavy or tall the dog is if he
doesn't have a sound temperament or can't carry his own weight
--much less do a job.
Micah has passed all his health
testing and has been awarded the MCOA Gold Health Award!

Micah has also passed the AKC standard for Canine Good
Citizen and has a confident personality without being obnoxious.
He is a favorite at Meet the Breed booths because he can be
trusted with the public and with the other intact dogs working
the booth. He qualified in his first 3 Rally trials to earn
his RN title showing his ability and willingness to work and
listen. We believe he is a good candidate for the Tail Wagging
Tutors program and will be pursuing that in the near future.
We are also investigating what else he needs to earn the MCOA
Working Dog title.
Micah is a slow maturing dog with
a lot of wrinkle and expression, outstanding pigment, correct
temperament, rock solid topline, tight cat feet, and impressive
soundness. He is now available at stud to health tested females.
