"Lara"

Our keeper puppy from Gracie's last litter born on Valentine's Day 2007. Her sire is Intl.Am.Can. Ch Stellar Enter Sandman RN and we are very glad there was ONE girl in this litter of eight. She is our sweet and pushy spoiled child and it's very hard to resist her. She truly thinks she is a lapdog and will try to crawl up every chance she gets and she's a big enough girl it's hard to convince her not to. Nonetheless, her heart is pure gold and her temperament is steady and gentle.

Lara has now finished her Canadian Championship from the 12-18 month classes. She suffered 2 torn muscles, a tear in her joint capsule, and a stretched ligament in her right rear leg in Oct 2008 and has been off the show circuit since then. We hoped that she would be able to come back out in the spring of 2009, but it looks like the stretched ligament may be permanent. For guidance on how to best help her, we turned to Dr Shaw at Back On Track Canine Rehab in Portland OR and are now utilizing chiropractic, massage, and specific exercises to help facilitate healing and maintenance.

Lara is now retired from the show ring (unless we see a miracle) and we will not breed her as it would put too much stress on her weakened leg. Her health and comfort must always come first. She is, after all, a princess.
